This family Michaelis website is dedicated to all family members and especially to those who lost their lives in the Holocaust. And those who survived the Holocaust and lived on to tell the tale.

Our idea to start the family Michaelis website was many fold. However the premier reason has to be that we wished to bring together all the individuals of the family who still exist ,as a testimony to the fact that the Holocaust did not completely succeed in its aim, which was the eradication of European Jewry.

Our family Michaelis website is an ongoing project. As time passes , it will hopefully grow as more of the family become interested . Some will decline, others will become involved.

The roots of this family can be traced back to Dummerfitz, Pielburg and Gross Kroessin in Pommerania, Germany. In the short time we have been working on it, quite amazing things have happened. We know for sure that the family has evolved from its Jewish roots to become Christian based. Having said that though, there are members who have retained their Jewish belief. This is very interesting in itself.

We are carrying out an ongoing search to try and find as many relatives as we can. We hope at some point in the future to bring everybody who is interested together,so that the new generations can get to know one another.
